Seriously??

The Blue Devils pulled out a big victory over arch rival (nemesis?) Tarheels last night. It was a big victory because it was against UNC, not because UNC is any good this year. I was really nervous during the game, and felt like there was a lot riding on it. I tend to take it pretty seriously, but this is a bit over the top.

Here is a quote from Roy Williams comparing the current UNC basketball season to the Haiti tragedy:

"Massage therapist told me, she said, 'You know, coach, what happened in Haiti is a catastrophe. What you're having is a disappointment.' I told her that depends on what chair she was sitting in. Because it does feel like a catastrophe to me, because it is my life."

So... ACC record of 2-7 = 230,000 lives lost in the Haiti Tragedy

(A "fan" wanted to take a pic with the mascot after the Pheiffer game, so he covered up her awful jersey with his cape for the picture. Well played. Even the guys wearing Pheiffer shirts in the background think this is funny. I do love the rivalry, and college basketball, but let's not compare it large scale loss of life in any capacity. Roy, show a little respect and class.)

The Case For Benching Kyle Singler

THIS article is from The Chronicle via Bleacher Report. I am not sure if I agree, but it is an interesting theory.

"Pegged as a preseason All-American, the junior forward has seen his numbers drop across the board, including field goal percentage (41.0 percent), 3-point percentage (34.7 percent), points (15.4 per game) and rebounds (6.9 per game). It may be due to his move to the perimeter, the increased expectations coming into the season or the pressure of a possible NBA career next year. Or none of those. Honestly, I have no idea. But I think it’s time to consider the once-unthinkable.It’s time to bench Kyle Singler."
